Location

Canberra Technology City (CTC) is planned to be situated at Hume in the ACT. This site is zoned for Industrial and supports the defined use of onsite gas based power generation and communication facilities. Technical Real Estate has secured the site to build facilities for critical computer systems of Government, National companies and Global companies who seek an Asia Pacific computer Hub.

Canberra is the largest information economy is Australia and is home to the country’s most advanced fibre optic cable network. It is connected to Australia Japan Cable, Southern Cross Cable SEA – ME – WE3, APCN Jasuraus and Tasman2 providing world class access and speed.


Description

CTC will be the world's first purpose built data centre campus focused on substantially reducing the carbon foot print by providing an onsite gas powered electrical generation system. The Hume campus is to be located on a 12 hectare site and comes complete with diverse dual power grid feeds, on site gas power generation, and the worlds most advanced liquid Co2 based cooling for high density computing.


Delivery

Development approval has been granted for the construction of 6 completely independent, high security data centres on the 12.7 hectare campus. The first of which can be delivered in 2011.
