Location
Canberra Technology City (CTC) is planned to be situated at Tuggeranong. This site is zoned for a range of defined uses which included power generation and communication facilities. Technical Real Estate is seeking to secure 2 sites for development in greater Canberra in order to provide dual production capability for critical computer systems of Government, National companies and Global companies who seek a Asia Pacific computer Hub.
Canberra is the largest information economy is Australia and is home to the country’s most advanced fibre optic cable network. It is connected to Australia Japan Cable, Southern Cross Cable SEA – ME – WE3, APCN Jasuraus and Tasman2.
Description
CTC will be the worlds first purpose built data centre campus focused on substantially reducing the carbon foot print by providing an onsite gas powered electrical generation system. The Tuggeranong campus is to be located on a 17 hectare site and comes complete with diverse dual power grid feeds, on site gas power generation, and the worlds most advanced liquid Co2 based cooling for high density computing.
The dual sites will be developed with a combination of GC1, GC2 and GC3 modular data centres deployed at a range of power and cooling specifications specific to a customers need.
Delivery
Development subject to planning approval will commence 1st Quarter 2009 with completion of the first data centres in 4th quarter 2009.
